Course overview
ESOL provides the opportunity for 16-19 year old speakers of other languages to improve their English skills before going on to work in the community or study another course at BSDC. The course aims to give learners confidence when using English by improving their core skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Enrolling on the course will lead to a City & Guilds qualification in ESOL Skills for Life. This can be used to gain entry onto other programmes within the College.
Learners will also be given the opportunity to take work experience to prepare them for their future and to understand what a UK workplace is like.
Maths is also an important part of the course. Learners will take an exam and gain a Functional Skills Award or GCSE. -
