Course overview
This advanced qualification in hospitality, leadership and supervision aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to work in one of the most exciting and rewarding industries. From festivals and restaurants to banquets and the closely linked tourism industry, this is the course for creative and caring individuals with an interest in customer service. You will be taught by industry experts, enabling you to gain practical service skills, knowledge and confidence to excel in your chosen career.
As a customer facing representative of the industry, your role, whether it is working in a cocktail bar, high end restaurant or bistro, or as an events planner, is a crucial part of the customer experience. You will develop the ability to organise and carry out the smooth running of operations, which is highly sought-after by employers.
You will also gain the essential skills to deliver food service, food safety, handling payments, bookings, serving hot and cold beverages, bar service and menu design.

Entry requirements
Applicants will be expected to have a recognised level 2 subject specific vocational qualification.
If not already achieved, be working towards completing a level 2 literacy qualification.
(or) Several years' occupational experience within relevant disciplines will also be considered -
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed practically working within our commercial Mulberry Restaurant and Bistro. Underpinning knowledge will be assessed by the use of a variety of assessment methods.

What can I do next?
This qualification can lead to a range of jobs, including hotel manager, events co-ordinator, restaurant supervisor and bar manager.
Further study could include progressing to ILM management qualifications.

English & Maths
Being confident with maths and English is not only important for everyday life but it’s expected as standard in the world of work. We’re committed to ensuring our learners have the full range of skills that universities and employers are looking for. If you haven’t yet achieved grade 4 (grade C) in English and maths and are aged between 16-18 years, you will continue to study these by undertaking a GCSE re-sit programme or appropriate stepping stone qualifications in addition to your vocational learning programme.

If you live independently and are in receipt of certain means tested benefits in your own right or live in a low-income household, you may be eligible for one of our grants.
