Burton and South Derbyshire College is offering the 'Next Level Qualification', T-levels. After GCSEs, students can now study T-levels which are the equivalent to 3 A levels. T-Levels offer a combination of classroom learning and experience in the workplace.
T-Level students spend 80% of the course in the classroom, learning the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action. T-Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or study.
Each T-Level includes an in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days (350 hours). This gives students valuable experience in the workplace while giving employers the opportunity to develop new talent in their industry.
T-Levels are an alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses. A T-Level focuses on vocational skills and can help students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships.
